Hilarious Video AKA My FINAL Project!!

Hey all!  Okay, so the end of the semester is finally here, and I am sitting in class to finish my very final FINAL exam!  And of course, as per this course, I had to create a video that was related to my blog.  I decided after the craziness that was my last video I was not going to be an actor in this one, but the guy I got is completely hysterical.  Kudos to him for all he did to help me out.  SO please enjoy my video and remember, although this video is humorous and entertaining, it is about a REAL problem with the children of today’s generation!

Comment and let me know what you think!

Fighting Hurts Everyone

Something I have learned (the hard way might I add), is that when you get into an argument with someone, especially a loved one, it not only hurts the two of you, it hurts whoever is in ear shot too.  Especially children.  I have caught myself going off on my boyfriend for something with my 2 year old, or even the older boys, and I have to remember to reign it in and hold onto that tantrum for later when everyone goes to bed.  Its emotionally traumatizing to them to see us arguing and fighting, and it makes kids start to question the stability of their family unit.  And for those of us in dual-household families, it gives them something to go and talk to their other biological parent about too, which almost always is NOT a good thing.

How do you handle arguments when kids are present?

Spring Has Sprung, and Summer Is Nigh!

So with the semester coming to a close for me, and school for the children very soon to follow, I am starting to get the warm-weather jitters.  It has gotten into the 70’s all of maybe a week in total this Spring, and its driving me nuts!  Mother Nature is such a tease.  However I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, and sooner or later I’m going to be hanging out in some shorts, and praying for the air conditioner to hold up during those really hot days.  But its all worth it because with Summer comes the beach, pool, sunbathing, 4-wheelin’, dirt bike ridin’ good time me and family share.  Its so awesome to be able to go outside and not worry about if the kids have enough layers on.  Heck, I’ll probably have to turn the hose on every few hours just to cool those boys down.  And I do plan on using the good weather to my advantage to take more pictures and (hopefully) get some real paying work by the up-and-coming Senior class for their Senior Photos.  I’m crossing my fingers on that, but no matter what, Spring and Summer bring really great times and family fun every year!

What are your plans this Summer?  Tell me about it!

Soooooo happy Wednesday everyone!  Today is special for most people because it marks the halfway point until the weekend.  But today is extra special for me and my family because it is my little angel’s 2nd birthday!  It has been two years since the painful labor and C-section.  Two years since she was stuck in NICU for 2 weeks, and mommy was a sleepless nervous wreck.  TWO YEARS since she couldn’t even open her eyes longer then a few minutes at a time!  And look at her now!  Happy, healthy, and my little butterball turkey 🙂  I can’t even express how badly I wish I could slow down time, and keep her a baby forever, but we all know that is impossible.  All of our children grow up and make their own lives as badly as moms and dads try to keep them close.  Lets just hope the next 16 years slow down at least a little, right?

Now I am off to go spend my daughters special day spoiling her rotten!

Until Next Time,

Semester’s End…..The Season of Stress

So let me lay it out straight for y’all.  I am stressed to the max.  Its the end of my first semester at this school, and I have got final portfolios to put together and projects due.  I’ve got 4 kids at the house and daycare to suspend for the summer, homework to do on a daily basis (theirs AND mine), and still manage to do our massive amounts of laundry twice a week to keep everyone from smelling like a sewer.  To make matters worse, I am an infamous procrastinator and my time management skills are definitely lacking.  But I am just going to throw my hands up at this point and do one thing at a time, pray for the best, and hope thats enough to get me some A’s and have a happy family all at once.

(Due to the above mentioned reasons, this week’s post is painfully short.  However I’ll make it up to my faithful readers at a later date 🙂 )

Until Next Time,

How To Video…..Viewers Beware!

Hey everybody!  So as I may have mentioned before, I started this blog for a class I am currently taking in college for my Photography major.  Weird, I know.  But it was a mandatory thing, so I took it.  Anywho, we had to make some sort of ‘how to’ video for a project, and it had to be within the scope of what our blogs were about as well.  SO I chose how to make homemade baby food 🙂  I had to take it apart after filming and do cuts and edits, simply because I tend to get a little preachy about why making the food your baby eats at home is so much more healthy and economically friendly.  Fear not, I took all that stuff out and just left the meat and potatoes on how to put together some yummy stuff for your little ones to eat.

Also, on a side note, the camera really does add 10 pounds, and I feel like I look like a whale yet sound like a mouse, so just ignore that part.

Boys Will Be Boys……Right?

Unknown

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I started my day off right by finding out about a golfball-sized knot that looked like a pimple about to explode on my youngest son’s head.  Awesome right?  But really it didn’t surprise me.  Why?  Because boys will be boys.  I have a pretty firm rule that there isn’t to be any wrestling by my 3 little guys within the walls of the house.  Simply because accidents happen and noggins get bumped on the corners of tables and whatnot.  But do they follow this (or any) rule ALL the time?  Absolutely not.  Hence the obnoxious knot.  However you can only be so mad at them.  They are boys who have pent up energy, aggression, testosterone etc and when its 15 degrees outside, there is no way I’d force them to go play out there in that crap.  So these things just happen.  And as a Mom I have learned that although I may use up all the bandages, peroxide, and loving boo-boo kisses (NOT! Those are a renewable resource 🙂 ) you can’t stop kids from running around and testing boundaries.  With each other and adults.

Where do you stand on boo-boo’s?  Are you a super protective parent, or a laid back one?  Or even just somewhere in between?  Let me know below!

Until Next Time,

Danielladear 😉
